Over the years the school has remained at the very heart of village life and has provided continuity of education for generations from within the community. The school was rebuilt and refurbished after the fire of 23rd March 1992.<\/p>\n<p>Presently almost 25% of our pupils travel to the school from outside the recognised catchment area of Asselby and Barmby.\u00a0 They come from Knedlington, Howden and Goole because of our small class sizes, family atmosphere, excellent resources, and high standards of teaching and learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MISSION STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our school motto is: Bee the Best!<br \/>\nOur school values are: Ready, Respectful &amp; Safe<br \/>\nOur school philosophy is: To encourage and develop children\u2019s abilities and talents so that each child grows into a confident, independent individual.\u00a0 We value all our children, know each of them so well and will offer them a broad and balanced curriculum which will enable them to excel.<br \/>\nWe want our children to develop the ability to think and reason and to understand how our mind-set can help us to be successful.\u00a0 Our vision is for our children to feel empowered and valued for their skills, to be able to take risks and push the boundaries to be successful.\u00a0 To be independent learners who are not afraid to have a go or phased if they don\u2019t succeed on their first attempt \u2013 we want them to show resilience.<br \/>\nThey will be empathetic, valuable and valued members of society as we have given them the skills and tools to apply and use in their lives, whatever they encounter, come up against or choose to pursue.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brief School History Barmby on the Marsh Primary School was opened on Monday 15th April 1878 to serve the villages of Asselby and Barmby on the Marsh.
