Remembrance Day

We are so proud of our display to celebrate Remembrance Day.

Tour de Yorkshire 2018

The children, staff, parents and local community gathered together at Knedlington crossroads (on Thursday 4th May 2018) to see the spectacular sight of the cyclists riding in the Tour de Yorkshire!  It was an unforgettable experience for the children to ride their own bikes from school up to Knedlington to watch and cheer the cyclists as they passed through our lovely part of Yorkshire.

The children’s comments about the event:

  • Darcy – I really enjoyed riding my bike and watching the Tour de Yorkshire with my classmates.
  • Alex – The views were stunning on the bike ride.
  • Lily – It was a really fun bike ride but I was tired on the way back.  I liked hi-fiving the police man and their bike sirens!
  • Eden – I really enjoyed supporting the Tour de Yorkshire and holding our school banner!

Staff would like to comment on how sensible and well behaved the children were whilst cycling up to Knedlington crossroads and during the whole event.

Comments from the local community:

  • Mr Bostock – Well done Barmby School to let the students see the bike race and how well behaved they were…a credit to the school!
  • Mr Chesterman – what a well behaved bunch they were, it was a pleasure to ride back into Barmby amongst them.
  • Mrs Dibnah – What a fab morning!  Well done to staff and pupils!
  • Mrs Booth – I absolutely loved it, fantastic!
  • Mrs Butler – They were amazing as always, a great experience for all!
  • Mrs Smith – Great morning, well done to all the pupils who rode there and back.

Here’s some pictures of our amazing morning…
